This week was the first week after winter break and we started our new classes. I have to say that I really enjoy my new classes a lot more, and I feel like my schedule is a lot more laid back, since I get the two hour Gov't class in the morning as well as Math. After lunch, it's painting (which is VERY laid-back) and English, which is my favorite subject. This week has already had a lot of reading involved, and I'm a little bit more excited about this semester's inquiry project because I am hoping to put more effort into finding really interesting books. I hope I keep up my good work ethic throughout the school year, because I am definitely trying not to procrastinate anymore. This week we have studied language during English class, specifically the kind of Englishes we speak. I think that I speak three kinds of Englishes -- the professional kind (that it used at work and sometimes at school), the kind I speak with my family (which is kind of like "broken" english & "spanglish") and the kind I speak with my friends. It was really cool to think about this because I never really thought about it before. I'm interested to see where we are going with all of these readings about languages.

I agree! I think semester will be a lot more laidback than last, but we'll see.
