This week we submitted our first draft of the tragedy essay. To be honest it was kind of difficult for me to write this essay, I kind of feel like it is the worst essay I've written. I think this was mostly because of the fact that I didn't really understand that readings that we were basing our essay off, so that made it really hard for me to write the essay. I really think I can improve on the quotes that I used for my essay, and I also think I need to improve my "I say" section of the essay. I also think I didn't write a very good essay because I kind of put it off until the very last minute, which I don't normally do. I only did this because of the fact that I really did not know what to write or how to start my essay. I think that in order to prepare for the final draft, I should definitely ask more questions. I hope that I can eventually edit this VERY rough draft and create it into an essay I am proud of, not embarrassed of, haha.

That's how I felt too in the beginning. I which the other articles were stories like Oedipus because it grab my attention and it was easy to read. Just try your best for the final one you can do it. We have so many other stuff to do for other classes and we can't put our full attention on the essay but we can do this. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with Ale, this essay was not very easy for me to read either! Just the subject itself, tragedy is so difficult to portray and express in your own way. It can mean something completely different to you than it does to me, so it makes it tough. And the readings were pretty...I guess dry is the word but we have to work with it. I'm sure your essay is really good!
ReplyDeleteI agree in everything you said including leaving the essay to the last minute. I was in your shoes because I also didn't understand the reading due to the fact that I didn't undertand what I had read. I also feel the same way on how you say that this was one of the worst essays you have written. I think that if you revise it and read the articles once more, your essay would be better.
ReplyDeleteI am right here with you and I feel the same way. I found it hard to find the perfect quotes that would support my true feelings about tragedy and spent a lot of time contemplating my decisions. I definitely feel that this isn't my strongest essay either and I am thankful that we've had time to talk with our classmates to see what their thoughts about our essays too. I feel that it has been very helpful and I hope it's something we continue to do.
